Capitol Hill is Going to Hell

boehneranarchyCapitol Hill is in Hell now.

No.  That’s an understatement.  If Congress were in Hell now, they would have been in Heaven in just about every congress prior to the 112th.

I’m not joking.  Maybe the era after 9/11 was threatening.  But at least Congress could easily pass bills then.  I know they were bad bills, but still……..

Now all we’ve got is a useless anti-abortion bill from the House; a Farm Bill that also won’t go to the Senate; an Immigration Reform bill that we hope Boehner will bring in; doubling student loan rates; and nearly forty attempted Obamacare repeals.

You’d think they would have just realized that as long as Obama is president Obama-care is not going away.

Except they won’t.   Despite obsessing over the national debt, those folks don’t give a damn to how many times they repeal Obamacare, which would  be completely irrelevant except that CBS News estimates that it’s costing the government $1.45 million, per vote.

But that’s not all:

Really.  The Daily Show needs to stop freaking out over Anthony Weiner’ s misconduct and take on John Boehner.

You know there are some really good laws out there that make America a nice place to live.  For instance, Title IX is a law.  So is the Violence Against Women Act, which the GOP hates because they hate all women who are not conservative like they are; and believe that those women are protected by church.    The women probably aren’t.  There are some pretty bad people at churches these days.

Considering that and his stances on topics like gun control; I’m starting to wonder if John Boehner is an anarchist.  The anarchists who set off bombs during the Haymarket Riot believed every man should carry around dynamite; there’s not that much difference if you ask me.

But that’s not all.  Remember Obamacare?

Fifteen GOP senators are threatening to shut down the government if Obama doesn’t repeal Obamacare to prevent it from going into effect.

Okay.  If America wanted Obamacare to be repealed, they would have voted Obama out and Mitch McConnell would be the Senate Majority Leader.   And the GOP would actually have won the combined national house popular vote, not filibuster themselves free seats.

I believe the minority should have rights in government.  But there’s a difference between blocking a couple bills and blocking ever goddamned thing that comes to the floor.  And there’s a big difference between that and threatening to shut down the government because there’s one law you strongly dislike.

Here are the fifteen senators who want to shut down the government.

And that’s not all.  I’ve not even gotten to Darrell Issa yet.  But he can wait till he does something newsworthy again.  I think we’re all sick of hearing stories about Congress like this one.
